Which Pokemon is smallest?

19. Applin

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
This dual Grass and Dragon Type Pokemon from Generation 8 has a special trick! When hiding from its enermies it can disguise itself as the tasty fruit it is named after, and can usually be mistaken for an apple innocently lying in the grass. Applin is both the lightest and shortest Dragon-type Pokémon, and also one of the shortest Grass-type Pokémon. As soon as it's born, it burrows into an apple that looks like a Leppa Berry, which serves as a home, food source, and protection against preying bird Pokémon. The flavour of the apple determines which evolution Applin will evolve into. A brand new Pokemon first introduced with Pokemon Sword and Shield, it is said to perfectly mimic an apple sizewise.

18. Lake Guardians

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
The Lake Guardians are Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. They are a group of Legendary Pokémon that appear in the Sinnoh region. When the Creation Trio are angered, they have the power to calm them down. These three legendaries play an integral part and vital role in the storyline in Pokemon Diamond as well as Pearl. These legendary characters can also be known as the Emotion Trio. Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are all quite small, given their impact within the Sinnoh region and the legends surrounding it. They all measure up to be just 1 foot tall (about 0.3 meters).

17. Mimikyu

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
This adorable yet creepy Pokemon critter might be a surprise entry here, as it has made past appearances as being a similar height to Pikachu. However, did you know that this spooky Pokemon is actually only 8 inches tall! Having been first introduced to the public as a character in The Pokemon Sun as well as Moon, Mimikyu instantly stood out and won many hearts due to its cute Pikachu costume and its mysterious background. Known as the Disguise Pokemon, it wears a disguise to resemble Pikachu because it craves the attention and love that Pikachu receives. It's a little creepy but inside is just a sad and lonely creature wanting to be loved. It’s so desperate for friends that it hides its real identity and pretends to be Pikachu in order to be better liked and to make friends. There are two holes in its costume lower down, which suggests it must be a small creature lying close to the ground.

16. Generation 2 Pokemon Babies

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
These adorable Pokemon babies measure only about 12 inches tall, or 30 centimeters! An adorable group of critters, they include Cleffa, Igglybuff, Magby, Pichu, Smoochum and Elekid. Baby Pokémon are basic Pokémon that are small, cannot breed and are pre-evolutions that were introduced in a generation later than the evolutions before them. However, Togepi, Riolu, and Toxel are the only exceptions, as they and their evolutions are Pokémon belonging to the same generation. Baby Pokémon are mostly discovered through Eggs. Certain species can be produced when the evolution holds a certain type of incense. Occasionally, certain Baby Pokémon can be found in the wild in later generations or games such as Munchlax or Elekid.

15. Milcery

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
I have no idea how this adorable Pokemon got missed off the Cutest Pokemon Ranked list! Milcery is yet another Pokemon that was first introduced Sword and Shield and is only 8 inches tall. This might be because it is trying to emulate milk in real life. This prevolved form of Alcremie is a Fairy Type Pokemon from Generation 8 and evolves in an extremely unusual and fascinating manner - while holding a Sweet when its Trainer spins and strikes a pose. The form it evolves into depends on time of day, the length of the spin, and whether the Trainer was spinning clockwise or counterclockwise, plus the type of Sweet that is held. All of these factors, the length of spin, the rotation, and the time of the day, decide what kind of Alcremie Milcery can evolve into - and there are so many adorable forms!

14. Klefki

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
This quirky unique Pokemon is so darn cute and its design is so cool and creative! This tiny Pokemon from Generation 6 is a dual Steel and Fairy Type, also known as the Key Ring Pokemon. Its design is inspired by a keyring and it is nearly just as small, measuring in at just 1 foot. What’s fascinating about Klefki is the fact that the keys it displays are accessories it wears. The ring, in fact, is an integral part of its body and it can collect keys it enjoys. It is also said that Klefki will never give up keys it loves which is why people choose to trust it with important key items. Due to the size of this Pokemon, you could utilize this Pokemon as an accessory for your keychain!

13. Meltan

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
A mythical Steel type Pokémon introduced in Generation 7, it is known as the Hex Nut Pokémon and was released on Pokemon Let’s Play! The prevolved form of Melmetal, it measures in at only 8 inches tall and is based on a metal nut, with a hexagonal hex nut head containing its giant eye and a body made of liquid metal. However, it only evolves to Melmetal in Pokemon Go and not in any other games.

12. Shaymin

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Possibly a tiny, adorable floral hedgehog, Pokemon don't really come cuter than this (almost). It is known as the Gratitude Pokémon, a mythical creature from the Sinnoh region with the power to cleanse the air from toxins and completely magically transform natural landscapes in minutes alone. It's a pure pocket creature of positivity! It has a secondary form it can transform in to (it does not evolve) known as the deer-like Sky Forme, which makes it a dual Grass/Flying-type boasting incredible Speed and solid Sp. Attack. This secondary form can be activated by using a Gracidea flower in the daytime. The Land Forme Shaymin is just 8 inches high (0.2 m) and is one of the tiniest Pokemon ever.

11. Ribombee

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
This dual Fairy and Bug Type Pokemon from Generation 7 was first introduced during the Alolan generation and is also known as the Bee Fly Pokemon. It appears as a tiny adorable fairy Pokemon, with shimmery white wings and a bee like body. It is the prevolved form of Cutiefly and evolves at level 25. It’s definitely a tiny and charming part of any team! At 8 inches high, it's super small for a Pokemon!

10. Wishiwashi

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Appearances are very often deceiving and this little fish is proof of that! Deceptively small, it is known as the Demon of the Sea due to its ability to form clever formations with its kind in order to fight off strong foes. Introduced in Generation 7, it is also known as the Small Fry Pokemon. On its own it may be weak and easily preyed upon by both humans and aquatic predators but when threatened this dual Poison and Water type Pokémon can call on a mass of other Wishiwashi to form a school around it, meaning it can form a single entity in battle and greatly boost the creature’s combat capabilities. In a school formation, Wishiwashi possess incredible stats in both offensive and defensive areas. Its individual size is the same at just 8 inches.

9. Spritzee

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Look at this adorable avian Pokemon! This tiny bird Pokemon was introduced in Generation 6 and is a Fairy Type critter, also known as the Perfume Pokemon, which is just adorable. It bears a slight resemblance to a flamingo as a pink Pokemon, but also a parrot or macaw and is about 8 inches tall. It also has a special skill in that it emits a unique fragrance from its body, and any who smell it fall under its spell. According to Pokedex entries, ladies of the royal family might carry this Pokemon around rather than wearing perfume. It's a walking love potion and definitely one of the cutest Pokemon with wings!

8. Tynamo

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
This tiny silver minnow like fish Pokemon also appears as like an eel-fish, leech or electric eel. It is an Electric Type Pokemon from Generation 5 and is actually the most compact Electric-type Pokemon. They were first introduced in Pokemon Black and White. As for the inspiration behind its tiny appearance, it appears to be based on lampreys, leeches, and electric eels. It measures in at approx 8 inches!

7. Cosmoem

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Cosmoem is especially intriguing as it is actually one of the heaviest Pokemon! Known as the Protostar Pokémon, Cosmoem holds within it the infinity of the universe. This Psychic-type appears as an adorable looking spiky ball with a cute expression, it's pretty small at only 10 cm tall but this tiny ball of stars is known to accumulate energy, growing heavier and heavier, in order to evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala. Even though Cosmoem should be joint n.1 as it shares the same weight as Celesteela, it gets second place because it’s only a temporal form and will lose most of its weight once it transitions into its next stage. Why is Cosmoem so heavy? Cosmoem is a huge planet in a little cell and when it evolves its massive energy is released creating a legend. It manages to achieve its massive weight by accumulating vast amounts of energy as a temporal form.

6. Azurill

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Known as the Polka Dot Pokemon, Azurill is a dual Normal and Fairy type baby Pokémon from Generation 3 who appears a little like a mouse - or more so than Pichu! It has small round ears and is a lot like a blue doormouse in appearance. Happily, its typing gives it access to good movesets but being a first-stage Pokémon that can only evolve with friendship means its stats are very low (190 BST). Eventually, it will evolve into Marill and then into Azumarill but it is a pretty weak start to a good evolution lineup. It measures in at an adorable 4 inches high!

5. Sinistea

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
One of the tiniest Pokemon is Sinistea and it is also the smallest Ghost-type! This prevolved form of Polteageist also looks straight out of Beauty and the Beast, as one of the enchanted objects. Introduced in Generation 8, this inanimate object Pokemon is said to be created when a lonely spirit possesses a cold, leftover cup of tea and it is known as the Black Tea Pokemon. The teacup that Sinistea lives in is a famous piece of antique tableware; seafoam green in color with a lacy pattern that resembles a face and gold rims. However, there are many forgeries in circulation. Antique Form Sinistea has a mark of authenticity on the bottom of the cup, whereas Phony Form Sinistea lacks it. This mark appears as a light grey emblem on the bottom inside rim of the cup. As a teacup Pokemon, it measures only 4 inches high or 10cm tall!

4. Flabebe

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
A tiny Fairy-sprite Pokemon, Flabebe is only 4 inches tall (10 centimeters). The prevolved form of Floette is Flabébé, is a small Flower Pokémon with a white upper half and green lower half. It has beady eyes, a pink blush mark on each cheek, long, notched ears, and a small, pointed nose and wears a crown made from pollen it has collected from its flower, the crown of which has hidden healing properties. A Fairy Type Pokemon from Generation 6, it is seen to have stubby arms and a tail, but no visible legs. There is often a debate as to how much of Flabébé body is actually contained inside its flower, but contrary to popular belief, the flower is known to be separate and it is merely a tiny white fairy-like creature that lives upon a flower, hugging it. This is a female-only Pokemon with no male counterpart and is one of the smallest Flower Pokémon in existence. Fairies really do exist! It’s tied with Joltik, Cosmoem and others as one of the smallest Pokemon as well as one of the lightest or most lightweight Pokemon too at only 0.2lbs!!

3. Joltik

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Known as the Attaching Pokemon, Joltik is a Bug/Electric type Pokémon from in Generation 5 and is also one of the smallest Pokemon in existence at only 4 inches. It makes sense that a Pokemon that is based on a tick or parasite would be among the most tiny that exists. Joltik is the smallest Electric-type Pokemon and can be found cleverly clinging to other Pokémon, soaking up static electricity because it can't produce a charge on its own. They’re cute but they can’t stay tiny and tick-like for very long and grow into larger tarantulas by Level 36!

2. Comfey

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
With its own special feature in our Best Flower Pokemon Designs list, this adorable 4 inch Pokemon appears as a flower crown, although is too small to fit on your head! Known as the Posy Picker Pokemon, this little critter is a gorgeous Pokemon and intermediate level tonguetwister in equal parts! A Fairy Type Pokemon from Generation 7, it is known to shoot sticky vines from its head to pick flowers to create the ring around itself, and will give these rings to those it likes. The flowers can also be thrown at enemy Pokémon to create an opening to either flee or attack. However, it feels uneasy without flowers. Comfey spreads oil from its body along its flower ring. The oil changes the flowers so they emit a soothing fragrance that can heal both Comfey and its allies. This aroma can also help with the treatment of people and Pokémon at hospitals. The only thing to note is that this Pokemon may appear bigger in the anime than the Pokedex states, so it could be a controversial addition to this list. This is just another occasion there is a slight discrepency between the Pokemon anime and the games!

1. Cutiefly

Smallest cutest Pokemon designs
Able to detect and sense the auras of living things, this talented and tiny dual Bug and Fairy-Type Pokemon is from Generation 7 and is the smallest known Pokemon on our list! Its biggest size is only 4 inches and it appears as like a fly or small bee, collecting nectar and pollen from flowers, which are found by the colour and brightness of their auras. However, when a living creature is excited, its aura resembles a flower in full bloom. As a result, Cutiefly tends to gather around beings feeling strong emotions. This Pokémon can be found in fields and meadows but is sometimes attracted to towns or buildings by the emotions of living beings. Loving nectar and pollen, it often gets into skirmishes with Butterfree over food. Its gathers near Fomantis when drawn to its sweet scent. Spinarak and Pineco are natural predators of Cutiefly. One of the very shortest Pokémon in existence, it is also the lightest Bug-type Pokémon in existence.
