Inspired by the beautiful blossoms we often see as a backdrop in our favourite slice of life anime shows, here are some unique and creative Sakura crafts and blossom crafts ideas. These are perfect to bring in spring or decorate your space, or to give as gifts! We hope you enjoy these crafts ideas! PS who else currently adores the Minecraft cherry blossom biome?? (Me)

1. DIY some cherry blossom themed slime

The best craft to try, you can get super creative making it all pretty and sparkly! For this, you will need 100ml PVA white glue (children’s craft glue or CE marked glue), ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda gel food colouring,1 tsp contact lens cleaning solution and some glitter/beads/decorations. A small blob of shaving foam is optional but makes for extra fluffy slime!

1. Squeeze the glue into a mixing bowl (look for a bottle in a 100ml size if possible so you won’t have to measure it out). Add the bicarbonate of soda and mix well.

2. Add a drop or two of your chosen gel food colouring. Less colouring gives a pastel colour; the more you add, the brighter the colour. Mix until well incorporated.

3. Add the contact lens solution and mix. The slime will begin to form, going stringy before coming away clean from the bowl into a ball.

4. Once it has formed, take it out and knead it with your hands. It will be sticky at first but after about 30 seconds you’ll have a smooth and pliable ball. Add glitter at this point, if desired, and work in with your hands. Store in a pot with a lid.

Tip! For gloopier slime, try adding less than 1 tsp contact lens solution, mixing it in drop by drop until it just goes stringy and begins to come away from the bowl. Then knead.

2. Make some cherry blossom inspired candy bark

Make some super pretty cherry blossom themed candy bark/chocolate slab and add some edible glitter! This is super easy to make and requires no baking and all you will need is some cooking chocolate or melting chocolate (milk chocolate or white chocolate is fine) and some sweets or candy pieces. You could even change the colour of your candy bark and make it pink by melting down some white cooking chocolate and stirring in a few very small drops of red or pink food colouring, along with some cherry blossom flavouring or essence. All you need to then is pour in to a mold and decorate with all the cutest sweets and candy of choice! Then pop in the fridge to set and voila, your own Sakura inspired chocolate!

There's so many ways to get creative with this and you could add a sprinkle of freeze dried raspberries or incorporate a swirl of melted milk chocolate to create a pretty pattern. Sprinkle in some jelly sweets and add some popping candy, a must have ingredient, to finish, before setting it to cool!

3. Create a cherry blossom photo album

And photograph all the blossoms you can find! Then fill the album with tons of all different blossoms and make a beautiful collection for you to admire all year round - you could even press and dry some flowers and pop them in too.

4. Make some origami cherry blossoms

5. Make some sakura inspired mocktails

For all your friends! With edible glitter or shimmer! These magical cotton candy cocktails or mocktails are so much fun and are the perfect thing to make. They look extremely pretty, magical and incredibly cool! To make them, fill your drinking glasses or cups with cotton candy or candyfloss, topped with some edible shimmer or glitter. Once the liquid is poured atop the candyfloss, it dissolves in to the drink, shimmering and fizzing in the process, so pretty!

8. Make some cherry blossom scented shower steamers

These are so great to gift people on the go! These are so affordable to buy and look so beautiful, and you can even DIY them from ingredients such as essential oils, baking soda and constarch. You could create your own signature cherry blossom essential oil blend, using lychee and fruity scents alongside cherry blossom, and they make your shower smell amazing, the shower equivalent of bath bombs for those on the go!

9. Stage a miniature cherry blossom cafe

You can make this from a shoe box and craft out a miniature scene, using fimo or modelling clay for making tiny desserts and for the tiniest details!

10. Make some sakura flavour kohakutou

These Japanese crystal candies look just like gemstones and are the perfect anime magical girl inspired make! To make these, you will need some agar agar powder, sugar and food colouring. My favourite guide to making these amazing crystal candies is here, I love how they taste just as beautiful as they look!

11. Craft a cherry blossom origami kusudama decoration

These are so beautiful and make for the perfect Sakura or cherry blossom inspired craft to try! They are perfect to decorate your room with and feature an assortment of origami shapes formed together to make a ball like shape. In this case we can use cherry blossom origami flowers to make this beautiful orb like origami shape. There are so many different beautiful designs to try - our favourite cherry blossom style kusudama guide is here

12. Bake and ice Sakura sugar cookies

You can have so much fun decorating these! I love to sprinkle some edible sparkly glitter at the center and on the edge of the petals to make them extra pretty. I have linked some below - let me know your favourite ways to decorate your cookies!

14. DIY a sakura scented candle

Or you could make some cherry blossom scented wax melts and pour the melted wax in to cute molds to make adorable sweet scented shapes! These would make perfect gifts and are really satisfying to make too. Opt for soy or beeswax for a safe burn - you can have so much fun experimenting with the scent to create a true cherry blossom scent (why not try adding notes of lychee and cherry too!) and colour the wax melts pretty colours!

15. Make a cherry blossom wreath for your door

This would also make a wonderful gift for friends and family! Two designs I adore are this heart shaped cherry blossom wreath and this delicate style Sakura wreath - you could also craft one from layering lots of origami cherry blossom flowers all on top of each other from n.4! You could even create an ombre effect or gradate the pink hues to make a striking effect with the delicate colours.
